Flower Care

Proper care for cut flowers starts the moment they arrive. Remove any leaves or foliage that will be below the water line, and make a fresh diagonal cut at the stem ends under water. Fill a clean vase or container with tepid water. Place the flowers in the vase, and position them so they have room to fully open.

Change the water every 2-3 days. Discard old water and rinse the vase. Fill it again with fresh, room temperature water and a few drops of flower food. This helps keep the water clean and promotes proper nutrient uptake.

Keep flowers out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources. Place the vase in a cool area with indirect light. Avoid placing them near heating vents, fireplaces, or in very warm kitchens.

If flowers start to droop, recut the stems at an angle under water. This allows the stems to absorb more water. You may also strip leaves that will be below the water line again. Check the water level daily to ensure stems remain fully submerged.

Cut flowers will last longest if cared for properly. Following these basic tips will help keep them fresh, beautiful and blooming for as long as possible. Change the water frequently, provide indirect light and moderate temperatures, and trim the stems periodically to maximize their vase life. With the right care, cut flowers can bring joy to your home and business for over a week.
